about fukisuki's system
In order to have a community where anyone can create their own projects and groups and can participate as little or as much as they want, I thought there'd have to be a system to keep some sort of order and give people a reason not to go over-board.
Types of Projects
There are several choices for the kinds of projects people can start at FukiSuki! Here is a quick overview:
Sign-up Projects -- by far the most common type of project created. A person will to start a new project (and therefore become the project leader of that specific project) and then allow anyone to sign-up for any (or all) of the songs on the track list. Sign-ups are on a first-come-first-serve basis as there is usually a limited amount of spots. Sign-up projects commonly have track lists of 10 songs or more because of the number of people willing to participate.
One-shot Projects -- one-shots are usually collabs (collabs are collaborative projects, something you decide to do with a specific person or people). They can also be done as sign-up projects, the difference being that the project leader can be selective about who joins (maybe even holding auditions) and the track list will usually be smaller (one-shots usually do singles instead of albums).
Group Projects -- group projects differ from sign-ups and one-shots quite a lot. Firstly, an official group needs to be established. After that, groups are expected to work like they do in the music industry; they will release singles or albums on a regular basis under the group name, with the members only changing if someone needs to be replaced. Groups are commonly formed with friends who would like to work together more often, but a person can also hold sign-ups or auditions to pick members for a group.
Solo Projects -- solo projects are any releases that a person decides to do on their own. They can be of anything, have any number of songs, etc.
Special Projects -- these are projects started by me for the purpose of representing FukiSuki for a special occasion (usually holidays), but I may also put up singing challenges for the members to partake in from time to time.
I plan on adding On-going Projects (long-term projects based on a theme/idea) after I think of a good way to control the number of people creating these, and making sure all the ones that do get created have a sufficient amount of interest from the members.
Rules
I have established a penalty-based rule system to discourage the practice of signing up for/creating projects and then neglecting them.
